Qualifications:
Minimum 23 years of age
Minimum 2 year OTR experience, or 1 year verifiable with certificate from approved driving school.
No more than 2 moving violations within any 12 month period during past 3 years
Good reference - Stable work history
Valid class (A) CDL
Able to pass DOT physical, drug test and other evaluations
No DUI, DWI, alcohol related, or reckless convictions in the last 10 years
No reckless or careless driving convictions in the last 3 years.
Cannot have 5 moving violations in 3 years
No drug offense convictions, ever!
No felony convictions in last 10 years
No major avoidable collisions in the past 3 years.
Equipment - 2003 or newer Model Tractors. Fifth wheel no higher than 48 inches.
Beginning on the 3rd settlement, there will be a $100.00 per week deduction until a $2,000 Performance escrow is reached. Escrow will be returned upon receipt of base plates, permits, Qualcomm and all other applicable paperwork.
All Independent Contractors approved for hire by Texas Star are required to attend a drivers' training session in Rockwall, TX. Leases start after completion of the 3-day orientation.
